A Simple Prayer for Wisdom in the Everyday (for Mothers)
Some days, wisdom feels far away.
There’s so much going on—getting the kids ready, meals to cook, things to clean, even work to do. It’s easy to feel like we’re just rushing from one thing to the next. But deep down, I still want to make good choices. I want to speak kindly, love well, and do what’s right, even when I’m tired.
So I wrote this prayer for us—mothers who are trying our best in all the small, everyday things.
Dear God,
Help me slow down today.
Help me notice what really matters.
When the house is noisy or messy,
help me see my children with love.
When I feel stressed or stretched too thin,
give me wisdom to know what to let go of.
When I get upset or raise my voice,
help me stop and try again with grace.
Teach me to be patient.
Help me to stay gentle.
Fill my heart with joy—even when I’m doing the same chores again and again.
Remind me that You are with me,
right here in the middle of ordinary life.
Let everything I do—whether folding laundry or giving hugs—
be done with love and wisdom.
Amen.
You don’t have to be perfect to be wise.
You just need to keep walking with God, one little step at a time.
